Hair ties, clips and pins: choosing gentler accessories
Small accessories worn every day can pull and break hair. Here is how to choose ones kinder to thin hair.

Avoid metal that snags
Ties with metal joins and toothed clips can catch strands and snap them as you take them out.
Choose fabric or spiral
Fabric scrunchies and spiral ties spread pressure more evenly and come out more easily.
Change the position
Tying in the same place every day stresses the same area. Move it and loosen it, as in tight hairstyles.
Remove gently
Undo ties with your fingers instead of pulling. If you wear a tudung, make sure pins do not press on the hairline. See choosing an underscarf.
