Sun and a thinning scalp
A scalp that is more exposed burns more easily. Here is how to protect it under the Malaysian sun.

Why a thinning scalp needs protection
As hair thins, the scalp at the crown or parting is more exposed to sun and can sting or redden after long periods outdoors.
Simple protection
A loose hat, an umbrella or the tudung gives cover. Choose shadier times for outdoor activities if you can. Read do caps cause baldness.
Sunburn and treatment
Treatment is not suitable while the scalp is sunburnt. Wait until it has fully healed. See suitability.
After a day outside
Wash off sweat and oil with a gentle shampoo and lukewarm water. If the scalp blisters or is very painful, see a doctor.
