Chlorine and sea water can leave hair dry and tangled. Here is a simple routine for before and after a swim.

Tap water running into a basin

Wet it first

Wet your hair with clean tap water before getting in the pool. Hair that is already wet absorbs less pool water.

A swim cap

A swim cap reduces exposure. Put it on and take it off slowly so it does not pull on thin hair.

Rinse and wash after

Rinse straight after swimming and wash with a gentle shampoo. Put conditioner on the ends to reduce tangles.

After treatment

Ask your consultant when it is fine to swim again after treatment, and follow the aftercare guidance.
