How to dry hair without breakage
Rubbing with a towel and an overheated dryer are common causes of breakage. Here is a gentler way.

Press, do not rub
Wrap hair in a soft or microfibre towel and press gently to soak up water. Rubbing tangles and snaps strands.
Medium heat
Use your dryer on medium and hold it a little away from your head. Keep it moving so heat does not focus on one spot.
Dry the scalp too
For tudung wearers, a damp scalp under the tudung can cause itching and odour. Read scalp odour.
For extra volume
Lift the roots with your fingers as you dry, or dry with your head tilted slightly forward. See hairstyles for thin hair.

Is air-drying better?
It avoids heat, but hair that stays damp under a tudung is uncomfortable. A dryer on medium is a good middle ground.
Can I use a dryer after treatment?
After the first day, dry your hair as usual. Follow the aftercare guidance.
