Hereditary hair loss: what you can and cannot change
If your parents or relatives thinned, you may notice the same pattern. Here is what to know about the family factor.

How it usually looks
In men it often starts at the hairline or crown. In women it more often shows as a widening parting while the front hairline stays.
Genes cannot be changed
No shampoo or cosmetic treatment changes your genetics. Anyone promising otherwise deserves more questions.
What is still in your control
You can keep the scalp clean, avoid habits that cause breakage and choose a way to make thinning areas look fuller. Dr Steven Goh developed Simulation & Stimulation after experiencing hereditary hair loss himself.
Talk to a doctor too
For medical options such as minoxidil, get advice from a doctor or pharmacist. Our cosmetic treatment is not a substitute for medical advice.

Can Simulation help hereditary thinning?
Simulation can make thinning areas look fuller in about 3–4 hours. It does not change genetics. Your consultant explains what is realistic.
At what age does it start?
It differs for everyone. Some notice it in their 20s, others much later.
