A see-through crown: why the top of the head thins
Why the crown gets sparse, how to track change and non-surgical options.

An area you rarely see yourself
Many people only notice a sparse crown in a photo taken from above or when someone mentions it. Bright overhead light makes it more obvious.
Common causes
Family history, hormonal change and an oily scalp are among the usual causes. In some people the crown and hairline thin at the same time.
Track it with photos
Take a photo from above in the same light every month. It is the simplest way to see real change.
What can be done
Simulation & Stimulation makes a sparse crown look fuller on the same day, as in the film at the top of this site.

Why does my crown look thinner under lights?
Overhead light passes through the hair and reflects off the scalp, so sparse areas stand out.
How long is a crown treatment?
One session of about 3–4 hours in the chair, depending on the size of the area.
