Malaysia’s hot, humid weather and your hair
How heat, humidity and sun affect hair and scalp, and a routine that suits them.

Humidity and oil
Humid air and sweat make the scalp oilier and hair go flat faster.
Sun
Strong sun can dry the hair shaft and burn exposed scalp, especially along a parting or a sparse crown. Use a hat or umbrella at midday.
Water and chlorine
After swimming, rinse your hair with clean water as soon as you can.
A simple routine
Gentle shampoo, conditioner on the ends only, and dry the roots well. Consistency matters more than lots of products.

Should I protect my scalp from the sun?
Yes, especially if your parting or crown is sparse. A hat or umbrella helps.
Does rain damage hair?
Rinse and dry your hair after getting caught in the rain so the scalp does not stay damp.
